The Fun Stuff
Hi! I'm Qualia. I'm a voracious reader, story enthusiast, and lifelong writer. When I was twelve, I came up with a book idea that has stuck with me for life, and I dreamed that one day I would write and publish it. All throughout my years of schooling and then eventually work, finding time to write my story was difficult, even with all the passion and love I have for the idea. The older I got, the more I knew that I would have to dedicate myself to seeing my dream become a reality. In 2018, a month into beginning my career, a scene from my story came to me and stuck. A few weeks later, while on my two-hour-long morning train commute, I decided to write that scene in a journal - just to get it out of my head. The next day I wrote a little more. The day after that, a little more, until I officially challenged myself to write one word every day for a year. What followed was a months-long marathon which ended in an 800-page first draft of my first book. I have never been so proud of an achievement as I was of that draft. (Picture me: It's the next morning. I'm driving to my first train. Lizzo's Good As Hell is playing, and I'm bawling with joy at the realization that I did it!)
I want every person who feels that spark of creativity flickering in them to feel what I did that day, no matter their life circumstance or experience. With school, work, and everyday life, the dream of writing a book can be daunting. Add to that all the information a writer needs to know about writing, preparing, marketing, and publishing a book, and our dreams may feel impossible. They're not! I'm here to show you that we can do it, to share my experience, and to help all writers get their books done and published.

The Stats
Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Qualia C. Hendrickson, Esq. (I love that my name begins and ends with Q!). I'm a writer, publishing enthusiast, and attorney. I earned two bachelors degrees in three years from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, double majoring in Creative Writing and Economics and earning a certificate in Publishing. Determined to learn everything I could about the industry, I earned my Masters in Publishing from Pace University, completing a two year program in one year. During that time, I interned for two major publishers in the editorial and education departments. I then earned my Juris Doctorate from New York Law School and began my career as an attorney, working in criminal defense and general litigation. I loved helping people, but I knew that working with books was where I was meant to be. After two years as a practicing attorney, I left my firm and launched my consulting practice to do exactly that - work with books and stories. I now consult with writers of all levels to get them from ideation to launch. I'm about making dreams come true. Let's get started on yours.
